Mumbai, April 1: A 63-year-old Sweden national was detained on Thursday for molesting a cabin crew member on an IndiGo 6E-1052 Bangkok-Mumbai trip, according to the authorities. The individual has been recognised as Klas Erik Harald Jonasm by the police.

Klas was the subject of a complaint from IndiGo alleging that he handled a crew member improperly when paying for the food while drunk. As the plane landed in Bombay, the airline crew turned Klas Erik over to the authorities.

IndiGo has acknowledged the issue and stated that the proper procedures were followed, but has not yet released a comment. Klas Erik, according to authorities, is the sixth rowdy airline passenger to be detained in India in the previous three months.

During a Dubai-Mumbai IndiGo aircraft on March 23, two individuals were detained for drinking alcohol, hurling abuse directed at other passengers and flight personnel. Afterwards, bail was granted to them.

But, the accused’s laywer said that the man has health problems and shivers.  “He cannot hold anything without help. He tried to hold the POS payment card machine when he touched the cabin crew. He did not touch her intentionally,” Times of India quoted him saying.
