New Delhi, June 16: Ashok Kumar, the brother of detained Tamil Nadu minister Senthil Balaji, was issued a summons by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Friday in connection with the suspected cash-for-job scam.

According to the financial investigation agency, Ashok Kumar is a beneficiary of the proceeds of crime.

A number of complainants have previously accused Ashok Kumar of accepting money in exchange for jobs, as per sources.

Earlier on Tuesday, Tamil Nadu Electricity Minister V Senthil Balaji was detained in a money laundering case after the Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted raids on locations connected to him. Hours after a court ordered him to remain in judicial prison until June 28, the accused minister had to be hospitalised because of his deteriorating condition.
