Jamshedpur, Sept 8: A new open-air gymnasium and a workout zone has come up at the Millennium Park at Telco in Jamshedpur.
Tata Motors gifted the open-air gymnasium to the steel city so that local residents and children can work out in an open space.
The park has a bunch of fitness equipment — including a pull chair, rowing machine, air Walker, air swing, sit-up station, standing waist twister, double big shoulder wheel, chest and shoulder press exercise set-ups.
A poster has been put up near the open-air gymnasium at the park mentioning the Do’s and Don’ts. Shoes are compulsory while using the machines with proper hygiene.
Children below 10 years are not allowed to use the equipment. Use of cell phones is prohibited during work out.
All the equipment are placed in such a way that distancing rules are maintained.
Security guards have been deployed to ensure that visitors to the park and the open-air gymnasium wear masks and follow other Covid guidelines.
No charges are required to access the open-air gym. People can use the open-air gym both in the morning from 6 am to 8am and in the evening from 5 pm to 8 pm.
Neha Verma who lives in a nearby complex said she was a regular at the park where she would jog or go for morning walks.
“I jog and do freehand exercises in the park. Now I can work out at the open gym. This is a great addition to the park, ” she said.
