Tata Steel Foundation holds awareness rally on child marriage

Dhanbad, Sept 15: Tata Steel Foundation organized an awareness rally on child marriage at Pandrakanali panchayat area under the Dhanbad Sadar Block of Dhanbad district on Friday.

Mayank Shekhar, chief of Sijua Group of Tata Steel flagged off the awareness rally.

Mayank Shekhar, on the occasion, spoke about the impact of child marriage and its disadvantages in family planning and higher education. He also urged the youth to spread awareness about the right age of marriage through different activities run under the RISHTA project.

“ The aim of the rally is to raise awareness about the harmful effects of child marriage and to encourage people to take action against it. Tata Steel Foundation hopes that through events like this, they can help create a brighter future for children in the region,” he said.

Piyush Kumar, senior area manager HRBP Sijua Group, Kushum Devi, Mukhiya Pandrakanali Panchayat, Bipin Singh Choudhary, manager Community Development TSF Sijua Group, Umesh Kumar Mahato, block officer RISHTA Project, Rahul Chandra Mahato, Ujjwal Kumar and Deepak Kumar from RISHTA Project team and other villagers were also present on the occasion.
