Ramgarh, Dec 24: Ramgarh DC Madhavi Mishra launched the nutrition kit distribution program for TB patients at Tata steel foundation (TSF) Auditorium, West Bokaro on Saturday under the ‘NIKSHAY’ program of Pradhan Mantri TB Mukt Bharat Yojana.

Anurag Dixit, General Manager, West Bokaro Division, Tata Steel was also present on the occasion. 40 nutrition kits were distributed among 20 patients for two months.

On this occasion, the DC thanked TSF and said, “The Government of India aims to eliminate TB disease completely by 2025 and the best treatment for this disease can be done in a government hospital only. TB decays the patient’s body and to prevent it, protein-rich food is very necessary. TB patients will get a lot of help from this campaign.”

Expressing his views on the program, GM Anurag Dixit said, “Tata Steel has always been a frontrunner in the field of community welfare and is always ready in this aspirational plan for the community in coordination with the district administration.”

It is worth mentioning that under this programme, Tata Steel Foundation, West Bokaro Division will provide nutritional food kits to more than 250 TB patients of Mandu and Gola blocks as per the recommended food basket for one year.

The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) has launched Pradhan Mantri TB Mukt Bharat, a strategic plan to achieve the UN SDG target of eliminating tuberculosis by 2025.  Currently, 25% of the world’s TB patients are in India and 4 million people die of the disease every year in the country.
