Jamshedpur, July 20: Tata Steel Utilities and Infrastructure Services Limited (Formerly JUSCO) would spend around Rs 300 crore for the development of civic amenities in Jamshedpur.
The necessary fund has been made available by Tata Steel, said Ritu Raj Sinha, managing director of Tata Steel UISL talking to newsmen here today.
Referring to the Nielsen Quality of Life survey he said that the ranking has further improved this year.
The study is conducted on the basis of various parameters including urban environment, water supply, power supply, public services, education, cohesion & migration, safety, housing, employment, economy etc.,
The civic guardian would also provide 3000 new electricity connections. It has already provided over 20,000 power connections in slum areas.
The Tata Steel subsidiary is also setting up new substations at different places including Bagunnagar, Nirmalnagar and Sidhu Kanhu Basti for providing new electricity connections.
It has developed several new parks- Golmuri Children Park, Ramnagar Park, Birsa Munda Park, New Kagalnagar Park etc.
Apart from this landscape, central verges have been developed at Mango and several other areas.
The company has set up a 3 MGD Water Treatment Plant at Ramadin Bagan which has been operationalized. This plant is presently catering to 2706 consumers in the eastern part of town.
A 10 MGD capacity pump was commissioned in river pump house. This pump will fulfil the requirement of the upcoming project of a 3 MGD filter house.
The Kadma New Pumping House was inaugurated in Kadma Water Tower.
The pump house will ensure water supply for residents of Uliyan, Bhatia Basti and Ramjanam Nagar areas.
The water connection process has started, presently catering to 983 consumers of the western part of the city.
The managing director also shared details of the new road development plans and other infrastructure development work in the city to be undertaken in the current fiscal.
