Jamshedpur, May 11: Residents of Jamshedpur can look for better roads and other infrastructure facilities in the days to come.

Tata Steel Utilities and Infrastructure Services Limited ( UISL), formerly known as JUSCO, promises to provide better services to the residents of the city along with its already existing green and beautification drive.

Tarun Daga, managing director, Tata Steel UISL said the ongoing work on the Circuit House Road to Sai Temple and Marine Drive is going to complete by the end of this month. He was happy over the recently inaugurated Kadma- Sonari Link Road Park which is proving to be a boon for children.

The utility company which looks after the upkeep of steel city has started strengthening and repairing of Bhalubasa bridge while the widening of the stretch from Ramlila Maidan to Baradwari Flats has been completed, and the work from the Baradwari Flats to the Bridge is presently on hold.

Widening on most parts of the Bistupur Outer Circle road, an important and busy artery has been completed. With respect to Marine Drive, repair work on several stretches had already been done during the last few months and this will continue further.

The managing director said most of the under-construction roads that are being widened are nearing completion and what remains pending is due to unresolved right of way or encroachments.

As a part of its initiative towards eco-friendly measures, the company is also experimenting with the use of Reclaimed Asphalt Mix in resurfacing roads. This is an environmentally friendly initiative in which waste material and coal tar/ aggregate consumption is considerably reduced.

A jungle trail, presently under construction behind the Circuit House Area is expected to be completed by March next year. Another new scheme is at a project planning stage that will serve the balance of the Eastern part of Jamshedpur covering 2500 units. Supplies from this scheme, when completed, are likely to start by January 2025.

Emphasising on the continuous effort to improve water supplies, Daga said that all deliverables as per Birsanagar- Bagunhatu (Moharda) water supply system agreement have been completed.
