Ramgarh, May 23: Tata Steel West Bokaro Division celebrated “International Day for Biodiversity – 2023” on Monday. This year the theme of the day was “From Agreement to Action: Building Biodiversity”. Under Mission Life, this was one of the scheduled programs organized in collaboration with the Regional Office, MoEFCC Ranchi and DFO Office, Ramgarh.
The day began with a cycle rally in the morning to raise awareness about energy conservation and to maximize the use of cycles whenever possible. About 50 children participated in this activity.
In the evening, a program was organized at JN Tata Park, Pundi. The program began with a song on the environment, followed by a skit presentation by the students of Tata DAV Public School, Ghato.
Present on the occasion were Sandeep Bhattacharya, Chief, FO & BF, Partha Basu, Chief, Revenue Accounts & Employees Benefit, Avneesh Arun, Chief, Business Finance & Accounts, TSK, Sudip Mishra, Chief, Marketing Finance.
The Environment and Planning Department of Tata Steel West Bokaro Division coordinated the programme. “On-the-Spot Quiz” and “Identify the Species” competitions were organized for the students to gauge their knowledge about the surrounding biodiversity. The winners were honoured with prizes.
The event concluded with a symbolic tree plantation in the JN Tata Park area, where saplings of native species were planted.
