Tata Steel’s West Bokaro Division celebrates PRIDE month for first time

Jamshedpur, June 29: In its endeavour to promote diversity and inclusion at workplace, Tata Steel’s West Bokaro Division today celebrated PRIDE Month at Tata Steel Foundation Conference Hall.

Anurag Dixit, General Manager, West Bokaro Division, Tata Steel, graced the occasion as chief guest.

“The celebration of PRIDE Month at West Bokaro is a historic event. The onboarding of transgenders was not the pit stop, the onus now rests on us to benchmark the initiative and pave way for others. I wish all onboarded transgenders a very happy PRIDE Month,” Anurag Dixit said.

The programme began with an insightful roundtable discussion on inclusion of transgenders in society. The session was chaired by BV Priyamvada, Prerna Roy, General Surgeon, Tata Central Hospital, West Bokaro Division, Munna Vishwakarma, Member, Rashtriya Colliery Mazdoor Union, Ajit Kumar Dubey, Vice Principal, Tata DAV Public School, West Bokaro, and Madhulika Dubey, Teacher, Holy Cross School. Sudhir Kumar Singh, Head, Human Resource Business Partner, West Bokaro Division, Tata Steel, moderated the session.

This was followed by debate and speech competitions. Sushmita Mandal, Rahul Kumar and Sunil Kumar emerged winners for debate competition while Abhijit Nath (Aene) [First], Anupam Shukla [Second] and Ankeeta Kumari [Third] were winners of speech competition, respectively.

The debate and speech competition was judged by Priyanka Sharan, Prashasti Gupta, Kamla, PK Singh and Mahesh Prasad.

In a joint collaboration Women@Mines and Transgenders@Mines presented a song during the programme as well.
