Bengaluru: After the arrest of Nikita Singhania, estranged wife of techie Atul Subhash, along with her mother and brother in connection with his suicide, the deceased’s family is now seeking answers about the whereabouts of Subhash’s four-year-old son. The Bengaluru-based software engineer had died by suicide earlier this week, leaving a 26-page note and video accusing Nikita and her family of relentless harassment.
“Where Is My Grandson?”
Subhash’s father, Pawan Kumar Modi, expressed anguish over the uncertainty surrounding his grandson’s safety. “We don’t know where she has kept our grandson. Has he been killed or is he alive? We don’t know anything about him,” Modi told ANI.
Overcome with emotion, Modi appealed to national leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, to ensure the safety of his grandson.
“A grandfather’s love for his grandson surpasses everything. I’ve never even held him in my arms. Our only interaction was through video calls. Now, there’s a fresh case filed against me in his name. I just want my grandson to be with us,” he said.
Family Fears For Justice and Safety
Subhash’s brother, Bikas Modi, voiced similar concerns and thanked the Bengaluru police for their efforts in arresting the accused but emphasized that the family’s ordeal is far from over.
“The arrests are a step forward, but not everyone involved has been held accountable yet. We’re also deeply worried about my nephew’s current condition and whereabouts,” he said.
Arrests in the Case
Bengaluru Police arrested Nikita Singhania, her mother Nisha Singhania, and brother Anurag Singhania on Sunday. The case against them stems from allegations in Subhash’s suicide note, which accused them of extortion, harassment, and demanding a significant sum to withdraw ongoing legal battles.
