Mumbai: In a tragic incident on Saturday evening, a four-year-old boy, Ayush Laxman Kinwade, lost his life after being hit by an SUV in the Wadala area of Mumbai. The child, who lived on the footpath near Ambedkar College with his grandmother, was rushed to KEM Hospital in Parel but was declared ‘brought dead’ upon arrival.

The driver of the SUV, 19-year-old Bhushan Gole, a resident of Vile Parle, has been detained by the police for questioning.

Details of the Incident

The deceased boy’s father works as a contractor in mandap decoration, while Ayush lived on the streets with his grandmother. The incident has sparked concerns about reckless driving, particularly involving underage or inexperienced drivers.

The police have confirmed that they are collecting the driver’s blood sample to determine if he was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident.

Legal Action Initiated

A case has been registered at RAK Marg police station. Investigations are underway to ascertain further details about the driver and the circumstances leading to the accident.
