Dhanbad Jan 7: Deoghar district administration on Friday launched the 12-hour telemedicine treatment services in order to provide medical consultation service to people at their homes regarding Covid apprehension.
Deoghar Deputy Commissioner (DC) Manjunath Bhajantri has set up a panel of 14 specialist physicians to provide telemedicine services to people. They will attend to queries of people and Covid patients living in home isolation.
The DC has also released the telephone numbers of selected specialist medical officers and their time slots who would attend calls from people from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily at the district headquarter.
The physicians who have been deployed for the services are Dr KK Singh, Dr Chitranjan Pankaj, Dr Rajesh, Dr AK Prasad, Dr Vikash Kumar, Dr Ravi Ranjan, Dr Singh Alok Kumar, Dr Md Shahid, Dr Chandani Kumari, Dr Abdhesh Kumar Singh, Dr Prabhat Ranjan, Dr LN Pandit, Dr Rahul Kumar and Dr Abhishek.
A senior official of the district health department said that telemedicine treatment services would not only save the rush of people at health centres but also provide treatment to the patients at their homes in remote areas with just one call.
An official of the district administration said that the telemedicine services have been started in the wake of rising cases of Covid to check the infection in rural areas.
In the last 24 hours, 172 cases of Covid were registered in the district till the last report of Thursday night.
Deoghar civil surgeon (CS) Dr CK Shahi said that focus has been given in seven blocks Devipur, Mohanpur, Sonarathari, Madhupur, Sarwan, Sarath and Palojory where cases have been found in large numbers.
Residents of the district have highly appreciated this step of the administration.
“It is a great initiative by the authorities. It would save us from the harassment one has to face while going to health centres and Sadar hospital,” said AK Thakur of Professor Colony.
