New Delhi, March 14: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) is conducting searches at numerous places in Jammu and Kashmir, as part of its ongoing investigation into the case involving the funding of terrorism.

In suspects’ homes in Kulgam, Pulwama, Anantnag, and Shopian, searches were in progress. Police and CRPF troops were present in the company of the NIA teams.

Sartaj Altaf Bhat, a journalist who lives in Pulwama, was taken into custody by the NIA. According to sources, Bhat works for the regional news site Rising Kashmir.

The homes of Zaffar Bhat, the head of the Jammu and Kashmir Salvation Movement, and Hurriyat leader Qazi Yasir were searched by the Enforcement Directorate last week for evidence of funding for terrorism.
