Ranchi, Oct.21: A PPE kit not only protects doctors and medical staff from infection but is also a good gear for thieves to hide themselves during the theft.

It came to the fore after an unidentified miscreant clad in a PPE kit decamped with ornament worth Rs 50 lakh from a jewellery shop, Kittu Pari Jewellers, in wee hour today at Raki locality, about 250km from Jharkhand capital in Garhwa district.

Police, which started the investigation after the reporting of theft, shared the information retrieving CCTV footage of the jewellery store.

It is being ascertained how come the theft entered the bedroom of the shop owner on the first floor of the shop where the key of the alimarah containing ornaments was kept and returned silently with booty as the footage shows the miscreant walking from a tile roof house in the locality and then showing him running with booty in a bag hanging from his shoulder.

Superintendent of police of the district Anjani Kumar Jha confirmed the incident saying ‘in CCTV footage, we could see one miscreant but it will be early to comment on the number of thieves involved in the incident.’
