Three-member committee enquires officials over EC Railway trolley-wagon accident

Ramgarh, Jan 14: A three-member SAG committee, who is investigating the Nindra-McCluskieganj tower wagon and trolley accident on January 11, questioned a total of 15 railway officers and personnel related to the incident in the control office auditorium Barkakana. This was done on the instructions of the General Manager of East Central Railway Hajipur.

PWI Daltonganj Prince Kumar, Trackman Niranjan Kumar and Trolleyman Rajmani, who were sitting in the trolley died in the accident.

While Pappu Kumar, Luv Kumar, Ravi Kumar all three track men Tory, Kishori Prasad, Sikandar both track men Barwadih were injured in the incident.

The investigation team included Principal Chief Safety Officer Hajipur Shiv Kumar, Chief Track Engineer Hajipur Mukesh Kumar and ADRM Barkakana SC Chaudhary.

The team conducted written and oral interrogation of 15 railway personnel working at the time of the incident in the control office auditorium from 9.30 am to 5 pm along with their documents.

DE (TRD) Barkakana Sushant Parashar, ADEN Latehar Sunil Sagetra, Driver Tower Wagon Gautam Kumar, CNL Barkakana RK Jha, TW Cleaner Manoj Kumar, SM Mohammad Nafiruddin, Trackman Gopi Kishan, Pappu Kumar, Luv Kumar, Ravi Kumar, Kishori Prasad,  Sikandar Ram, TI Khalari Umesh Kumar, SSE Khalari Mukesh Kumar Singh, SI RPF Tory Rohit Kumar were present in the interrogation.

Due to the marathon inquiry of the inquiry committee, there was a chaos-like situation in the control office throughout the day. The joint report will be submitted to GM Hajipur on the basis of about 8 hours of inquiry and documents.

Departmental action will be taken against the railway personnel found guilty in the incident so that such incident does not occur again.
