Hazaribag, May 4: A joint team of the State police and CRPF 22 battalion arrested three TSPC extremists from Damaru in Keredari. The team also recovered a 9mm loaded pistol, 2 country-made carbines and a country-made rifle as well as bullets and mobiles from their possession.
Addressing a press conference this afternoon, SP Manoj Ratan Chauthe said on Wednesday he had received a tip-off about the presence of Tritiya Sammelan Prastuti Committee (TSPC) extremists in the Damaru area of Keredari. The information came to him that extremists are planning to commit some big crimes in the area. He said a team was formed by him comprising CRPF and jawans of district police.
Chauthe said as the team reached there, they spotted a few men on Damaru Hill. The team chased them and three of them were arrested while others fled from there. He said mobiles recovered from the trio were used to make ransom calls in the areas of Hazaribag and Ramgarh.
Chauthe praised the team for this success and said this arrest has weakened TSPC. In the last six months, we have nabbed twelve extremists, he informed.
According to him, they will take the three extremists on remand to know more about TSPC and the members who fled during the raid.
The arrested extremists are identified as Dinesh Lohra, Mukesh Turi and Bahadur Ganjhu.
