Jamshedpur, March 21: IMD’s Ranchi Meteorological Centre issued a forecast of thunderstorm and lightning in several isolated areas of Jharkhand today. Weathermen said after a brief sunshine overcast conditions prevailed in several parts of the state today.
The low-pressure trough was today running from the cyclonic circulation over Northeast Rajasthan to Nagaland across Uttar Pradesh and Bihar extending upto 1.5 Km above the mean sea level. Today’s forecast also included strong surface wind gusting up to 30-40 Kmph at isolated places over the state.
Tomorrow’s forecast also indicated thunderstorm and lightning at isolated places over the state. Met statistics during the last 24-hours suggested light to moderate rain with thunderstorm at most places. While heavy rainfall was also recorded at isolated places over the state.
The highest rainfall recorded of 84 mm was recorded at Messenjor (Dumka). The highest maximum temperature of 29.6°C was recorded at Daltonganj. While the lowest minimum temperature of 14.2°C was recorded at Ranchi.
