Jamshedpur, April 28: Several isolated places in southern and central Jharkhand is likely to witness thunderstorm and rain today, said a weather forecast issued by IMD’s Ranchi Meteorological Centre.
Weathermen said some places are expected to witness strong surface wind blowing at a speed of 30 to 40 Kmph.
Thunderstorm and lightning alert was also issued for tomorrow, April 29 and April 30.
The trough was today running from west Vidarbha to north Tamil Nadu across Marathwada and interior Karnataka extending up to 1.5 Km above the mean sea level.
A cyclonic circulation lies over east Bangladesh extending up to 3.1 Km above mean sea level.
Statistics indicated that very light rain with thunderstorms took place at isolated places over the state during the past 24 hours.
The highest rainfall recorded was 13 mm recorded at Sarath (Deoghar). The highest maximum temperature of 38.3 °C was recorded at Godda while the lowest minimum temperature of 22.0°C was recorded at Ranchi.
Weatherman said most places across Jharkhand recorded day’s temperature between 33 degrees and 36 degrees Celsius on Thursday.
