Ranchi, Dec.21: The tool down strike by HEC workers continued on the 21st consecutive day as talks between the HEC management and the labour union failed.
A union leader Kalesh Singh Paras informed to Lagatar24.com saying the meeting was organised at the conference hall of HEC. “The meeting started at 3pm and continued till 5pm but it could not yield any result,” Paras said.
Asked about the further course of action, Paras said: “Yesterday three directors of the company who were present today have called the union leaders at 4pm for a further talk into the matter. A further course of action will be decided after the talks conclude. Apparently, the directors have planned to talk to the acting CMD through video conferencing before starting any talk with us.”
The HEC workers are on strike for the demand of their wages as they have not got the same for the last seven months. The matter is in the knowledge of every stakeholder from common labour to the union heavy industry minister but so far nothing could be done to end the strike.
All the concerned authorities are passing the buck on each other maintaining a deadlock in the matter, which according to some insiders, is expected to be ended with an arrangement of hardly Rs 200 crore, or issuance of bank guarantee from the union ministry and permission to the HEC management to use its land to earn money.
