Prayagraj: Ahead of the ‘Maghi Purnima Snan’ at the Maha Kumbh on February 12, 2025, authorities in Prayagraj have announced a strict traffic plan, designating large sections of the city as No Vehicle Zones to ensure smooth movement of devotees.

Traffic Restrictions and Guidelines

In an official notification, the administration detailed the vehicle restrictions, which will be effective from February 11. These measures aim to ease congestion and facilitate the massive gathering expected for the auspicious bathing ritual.

Key Guidelines:

🔹 No Vehicle Zone in Mela Area:

From 4:00 AM on February 11, the entire Mela area will be declared a No Vehicle Zone, except for essential and emergency services.

🔹 Designated Parking for Devotees:

Vehicles carrying devotees from outside Prayagraj will be diverted to designated parking zones based on their respective routes after 4:00 AM on February 11.

🔹 Citywide No Vehicle Zone:

From 5:00 PM on February 11, a No Vehicle Zone will also be enforced across Prayagraj city, restricting movement to facilitate the smooth passage of pilgrims. Essential and emergency vehicles will be exempt.

🔹 Duration of Restrictions:

The traffic plan will remain in place until the safe exit of devotees from the Mela area on February 12.

🔹 Restrictions for Kalpavasis:

These vehicle entry and exit restrictions will also apply to Kalpavasis, pilgrims who stay for extended periods during the Kumbh Mela.

Appeal to Devotees

Authorities have urged visitors to use public transport and adhere to official guidelines to avoid inconvenience. The administration has also assured that additional arrangements have been made to manage the large crowds expected for the sacred ritual.
