Ranchi: The ongoing construction of the long-promised flyover on Ratu Road has become a daily nightmare for commuters in the capital. On Thursday morning, a massive traffic jam stretched from OTC Ground to Metro Gali, leaving office-goers stranded for hours in the scorching heat.
One-way diversions worsening internal congestion
The situation has worsened near Galaxia Mall, where road repairs have forced the route into a one-way system. As the main road clogs up, vehicles divert into nearby lanes — but these too are now choking under the pressure. Locals complain that Ranchi’s traffic management has collapsed under the weight of poor planning.
Public blames delay and poor sequencing of works
Many residents argue that if the flyover had been completed before initiating road repairs, the traffic woes wouldn’t have escalated to this level. “The government keeps making announcements, but we don’t see action,” a frustrated commuter said.
