Mumbai: A tragic incident occurred on Mumbai’s Grant Road this morning when a portion of the Rubinisa Manzil building collapsed, resulting in one fatality and injuring three others. The collapse, triggered by recent heavy rainfall, affected the front part of the four-storey structure, including sections of the second and third floors and a balcony.
At the time of the collapse, approximately 35-40 people were inside the building. Fortunately, all residents were safely evacuated. Eyewitnesses reported dramatic scenes at the site as locals and emergency personnel worked to rescue a man trapped under the debris, with images showing rescuers lifting concrete slabs to free him.
The building’s front section remains dangerously unstable, with parts of it still hanging precariously. Emergency services, including fire engines, police, and ambulances, have been deployed to manage the situation and ensure further safety.
This incident marks the first major building collapse of the monsoon season, which has brought severe weather to Mumbai and its neighboring regions over the past few days.
