Train and bus services in Ranchi come to halt amid Bharat bandh

Ranchi, June 20: As the country is experiencing wrath by youths amid the protest for the Agnipath scheme by the government, all bus transport services from Ranchi have been stopped on Monday due to Bharat Bandh. A total of 350 buses run from Ranchi every day to different states and districts.

The president of Ranchi Bus Owners Association Krishna Mohan Singh said that all the bus services that operate from Ranchi have been stopped completely on Monday to observe Bharat bandh.

“We have stopped all the buses that run during the day from operating. However, night services will continue to operate as usual. There are around 300-350 buses that run daily from Ranchi to Bihar and other districts of Jharkhand,” he said.

He informed that in each district of Bihar, around 10 to 15 buses from Ranchi operate and all those buses have been stopped for the day.

Similarly, most train services operating from Ranchi have been cancelled due to the Bharat bandh. These include Train No. 18626 Hatia Purnia Court Express, Train No. 12366 Ranchi Patna Janshatabdi Express, Train No. 18632 Chopan Ranchi Express, Train No. 18183 Tatanagar-Danapur Express, Train No. 12366 Ranchi-Patna Express and Train No. 18625 Purnia Court Hatia Express.

Around 736 trains were entirely or partially cancelled across the country, according to the IRCTC website. There have been total cancellations of 687 trains and partial cancellations of 49 trains.
