Jamshedpur, Sept 26: Normal train services have been restored in the Tatanagar-Howrah section and other railway divisions of South Eastern Railway as the public agitation by various Kurmi outfits over their demand for ST status ended.
The public agitation and rail blockade which was continuing at Khemasuli and Kustaur stations of South Eastern Railway since September 20 was withdrawn yesterday.
The Tatanagar-Howrah Steel Superfast Express left Tatanagar as per its scheduled time today.
The services of Ispat Superfast Express and Howrah-Barbil Jan Shatabdi Express were also restored today.
“As a result of the withdrawal of the agitation, train services have become normal,” confirmed O P Sharma, station manager of Tatanagar.
However, due to operational constraints 18011/18013 Howrah-Adra-Chakradharpur/
Due to the agitation since September 20 around 295 Mail/Express and Passenger trains have been cancelled.
Apart from this, around 90 trains had to be short terminated/short originated and around 105 trains were diverted.
Moreover, above 150 goods trains suffered loading loss and 175 goods trains got detained at different stations.
