Daltonganj, Oct 15: A 40-year-old tribal Mahinder Kisan was bitten by a bear in a protected forest under the Mahuadnr range of the Palamu Tiger Reserve.
Ranger Brinda Pandey said that Mahinder Kisan has injuries in his right leg and right hand. His head and face are safe.

The man had gone to the jungles late in the afternoon on Friday to collect dry wood when a lone bear attacked him.
The man was taken down to the community health centre Mahuadanr where he was given anti-rabies and tetanus injections, said the medical officer in charge of the CHC Dr Amit Khalkho.
Sources said that with the advent of the pre-winter days, the villagers are risking their lives in the jungles for dry wood to keep them warm in winter and are being attacked and bitten by bears.
Ranger Pandey said the villagers don’t listen to our advice of not to go into the jungles as these days bears are attacking human beings more.
