New Delhi, Dec 30: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and several of his cabinet and other politicians expressed their grief over the demise of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s mother Heeraben Modi, who passed away early Friday.
PM Modi’s mother, who was admitted to an Ahmedabad hospital, passed away at 100. Informing about her demise, the Prime Minister posted a heartfelt tweet early Friday which was followed by condolences from several union ministers among others.
President Droupadi Murmu on Friday offered her condolences at the passing away of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s mother Heeraben Modi.
“The hundred years of struggling life of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s mother Heeraba is a symbol of Indian ideals. Modi imbibed the spirit of ‘Matridevobhav’ and the values of Heeraba in his life. I pray for the peace of the holy soul. My condolences to the family!” tweeted the President.

Expressing grief over the demise of PM Modi’s mother, Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath said that the death of a mother is an unbearable and irreparable loss for a son.
“For a son, a mother is the whole world. The death of a mother is an unbearable and irreparable loss for a son. The demise of the respected mother of Honorable Prime Minister Narendra Modi is very sad. May Lord Shri Ram grant the departed pious soul a place at his holy feet. Om Shanti !” tweeted Yogi.

“The news of the demise of respected Mataji Heera Ba of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is very sad. Mother is the first friend and teacher of a person’s life, the pain of losing whom is undoubtedly the biggest in the world,” tweeted the Home Minister.
Shah said that Heeraben Modi’s sacrificial ascetic life will always be in our memory.
“The struggles faced by Heera Ba to nurture the family are a role model for all. Her sacrificial ascetic life will always be in our memory. The whole country stands with Prime Minister Modi and his family in this hour of grief. The prayers of crores of people are with you. Om Shanti,” Shah added.

West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee also expresses condolences over the demise of PM Modi’s mother Heeraben Modi.
“Condolences to PM Ji on the passing away of his mother, Heeraben Modi. I pray that her soul rests in peace. In this hour of grief, I hope that he and his family members find strength,” Mamata tweeted.

Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge expressed heartfelt condolences to Narendra Modi on losing his beloved mother.
“Deeply saddened to hear about the demise of Heeraben Modi. My heartfelt condolences to Narendra Modi ji on the loss of his beloved mother. Our thoughts and prayers are with the entire family in this hour of grief,” tweeted Mallikarjun Kharge.

Also, Congress MP Rahul Gandhi expressed his condolences over the passing away of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s mother, Heeraba.
“The news of the demise of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s mother Heeraba is extremely sad. At this difficult time, I extend my deepest condolences and love to him and his family,” tweeted Rahul Gandhi.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh also expressed grief and highlighted the value of a mother in one’s life and said that it’s a void ‘impossible to fill’.

I express my condolences to the Prime Minister and his entire family in this hour of grief. Om Shanti!” tweeted the Defence Minister.

Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel paid a heartfelt tribute to PM Modi’s mother.
“I am very sad to learn about the demise of Heeraben Modi, mother of PM Modi. I pay my deepest condolences. This news has made all of us sad. We all stand with Prime Minister Modi and his family in this difficult situation,” tweeted the Chhattisgarh CM.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that Heeraben Modi was a symbol of simplicity, humility and conviction.
“For 100 glorious years, Heeraben Maa blessed us all with her affection. She was a symbol of simplicity, humility and conviction. As she leaves for the heavenly abode, with teary eyes, I join millions in prayers. May her blessings always be with us,” tweeted Assam CM.

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar expressed grief at the demise and said that “the death of a mother is an unbearable and irreparable loss.”

Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) Sanjay Raut said, “There is no orphanhood like losing a mother’s umbrella. The grief of losing a mother is great. The tragic death of Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji’s mother Hiraben has affected his family. May God rest the soul of Matoshree Hiraben. We share the grief of the Modi family.”

Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar in a tweet said, “Narendra Bhai, I am deeply saddened to know about passing away of your mother. It’s an irreparable loss of an irreplaceable person in life! Please accept my sincere condolences on her loss. May her soul rest in eternal peace.”

Ghulam Nabi Azad was among the first few to express his condolences as he tweeted, “Saddened to hear the demise of Smt. Heeraben, mother of PM Narendra Modi ji. I know that words are of little solace at such times. However, my heartfelt condolences to Hon’ble Prime Minister. I also pray for the eternal peace of the departed soul.”

Heeraben Modi passed away at around 3:30 am on Friday at the UN Mehta Institute of Cardiology and Research Centre in Ahmedabad, according to a bulletin from the hospital. She was hospitalised on Wednesday after her health deteriorated.
