TRS to boycott remaining winter session of Parliament

TRS MP, K Keshava Rao moved an adjournment motion in the RS over discriminatory crop procurement policy and non-procurement of crops from Telangana.

New Delhi, Dec 7: The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) is likely to boycott the remaining Winter Session of the Parliament over a series of issues, paddy procurement and suspension of MPs.

“TRS to boycott this entire Parliament session from today. They’ll stage a brief sit-in protest at Gandhi Statue at Parliament premises & formally announce their decision. Issues for boycott will be paddy procurement, 12 suspended MPs & other issues related to Telangana,” said sources.

Notably, Notably, Rajya Sabha on the first day of its business for the winter session suspended 12 members for the rest of the current session. The 12 Rajya Sabha MPs have been suspended on account of ‘unruly and violent behavior’ during the Monsoon session of Parliament.

Meanwhile, TRS MP, K Keshava Rao on Tuesday moved an adjournment motion in the Rajya Sabha over “discriminatory crop procurement policy of the central government and non-procurement of crops from Telangana”. The adjournment motion was moved under rule 267.
