Ranchi, April 1: A secret tunnel was found at the observation home in Dumardaga in Jharkhand capital, where children in conflict are kept for their trial under Juvenile Justice Act at the Juvenile Justice Board.
It was found today in the morning during a surprise raid led by nodal security officer of the observation home Col J.K.Singh and Bargain circle office Manoj Kumar.
The tunnel was covered with tiles and was being used to hide mobile, marijuana and other banned materials.
A day before the discovery, security personnel of the observation home had recovered a dozen mobile phones hidden under the switchboard.
The discovery has exposed the poor security of the observation home from where the incident of gang war was also reported a few days ago. Apart from this, reports of children escaping from the observation after scaling a high wall often come from there.
