Daltonganj, Dec19: Two community health centres in Garhwa district are extremely poor performers in terms of the covid-19 vaccination.
“The two community health centres are Bhavnathpur and Dhurki. These two community health centres have completed less than 50 percent of the vaccination,” informed In charge civil surgeon Garhwa Dr Kamlesh Kumar on Sunday.
When asked for the reasons for these two CHCs lagging behind the target of the vaccination, Dr Kamlesh Kumar said, the teams here need to be motivated to act and achieve the target.
“There are in all 8 CHCs in Garhwa district and around 123 private health hubs registered under the clinical establishment act. Out of the fleet of 123 registered private health hubs, 70 to 80 have been roped in for the vaccination which will be free for the eligible beneficiary,” informed Dr Kumar.
Reminded that these private health institutions may dare to fleece unsuspecting eligible for the jab to which in charge civil surgeon said they can’t afford to do this. He said we will give these private vaccination sites their due but not eligible for the vaccination will be any taxed.
It is worth mentioning here that the government had months ago arranged vaccination at private registered health institutions @ of rupees 250 per dose. It did not go well and within a month or two vaccinations on cash fell flat in Jharkhand.
Notably, Garhwa has recorded 67 percent of the vaccination of the first dose and 34 percent of the second dose. There was a time not very far off Garhwa stood at the lowest in the 24 districts but now it is at 19th position in the state.
The civil surgeon said that there is a lot more to be done to accelerate the vaccination in Garhwa district.
