Ramgarh, Oct 14: The two-day national seminar on New Education Policy 2020 concluded at Ramgarh College on Friday.
Principal Dr Sharda Prasad welcomed the guests of the ceremony, researchers and the audience present in the auditorium. Chief guest Dr Ramesh Sharan in his presidential address said, “Dr Kasturirangan has prepared this important document in the field of education in consultation with thousands of learned people. Teachers need to study it carefully and understand the higher objectives contained in it and implement it in the interest of the student. The education policy aims to develop a national character consisting of reflective and civilized citizens.”
Giving the example of the memorable characters Krishna and Sudama present in our tradition, he talked about removing the inequality prevailing in education today. “Referring to the famous universities like Nalanda, Taxila and Vikramshila in the past, we need to learn from the teacher-disciple ratio existing at that time and their exemplary things,” he added.
Dr Arun Kumar Mishra, assistant professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Vinoba Bhave University who was present as the special guest in the concluding session, said that the purpose of education is to build the character of human beings as well as to enable them for employment because by getting specialized vocational education one can be sure of livelihood. He said that at Vinoba Bhave University, Bachelor in Artificial Intelligence and PG Diploma in Cyber ??Defense will prove to be very worthwhile in the direction of removing unemployment.
Special guest Dr Maharana Pratap Singh threw light on the merit of being a professor. Organizing Secretary Dr Ratna Pandey presented the detailed report of the two-day long seminar. He said that education aims to develop a better human being through study, experience, observation and experience-based education with proper life values.
In the concluding session, Dr Rose Oraon of the History Department and Dr Rajesh Kumar Upadhyay delivered a vote of thanks.
