Daltonganj, Jan 5: Two health officials in Daltonganj have tested Covid positive on Wednesday.

Confirming this, civil surgeon Palamu Dr Anil Kumar said these officers who have tested Covid positive are district accounts manager and district programme manager.

The CS said he had a cold and cough over the last few days which is now under control. He got his Covid test done wherein he tested negative. “But two of our officials, the district accounts manager and district programme manager have tested positive,” he added.

“These two immediately left their respective offices. We will now be more alert and cautious,” the CS said.

“We have been asking people with folded hands to put on masks properly on their faces. But some of them just fail to gauge the seriousness of the issue,” the CS added.

He said that on January 4, 15 new positive cases of Covid were detected, taking the total to 44 in the Palamu district.

Out of yesterday’s 15 Covid positive cases, 8 were from the urban areas, 4 in Chhatarpur, 2 in Panki and 1 in Sadar block.
