U-19 WC: India beat Australia by 96 runs, to face England in final

Antigua, Feb 3: India defeated Australia by 96 runs in the ICC U-19 Cricket World Cup Super League Semi-Final 2 at the Coolidge Cricket Ground in Antigua.

Australia were bowled out for 194 in 41.5 overs while chasing a goal of 291 runs. With Lachlan Shaw top-scoring with a half-century, the Australians faced a dramatic batting collapse. India’s Vicky Ostwal was in excellent form, taking three wickets. Meanwhile, Nishant Sindhu and Ravi Kumar both got two dismissals, while Kaushal Tambe and Angkrish Raghuvanshi both got one. Earlier, India had scored 290 for five in 50 overs, with to captain Yash Dhull’s century.

Dhull scored 110 runs off 110 deliveries, forming a solid partnership with Shaik Rasheed, who scored 94 runs off 108 deliveries. For Australia, William Salzmann and Jack Nisbet each grabbed two wickets. In the final, India will meet England, who overcame Afghanistan in their semi-final match.
