New Delhi, Sep 7: The Centre has delegated duties to several Union ministers of state to welcome the dignitaries as the national capital has been lavishly decorated to welcome foreign delegates for the G20 summit, according to sources.
The foreign secretary gave a presentation about it to the council of ministers and MOS, according to sources.
On September 8 at 6.55 p.m. (tentative time), US President Joe Biden will be received by Minister of State VK Singh, while British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak will be received by MOS Ashwini Choubey at 1.40 p.m.
Additionally, sources state that MOS Choubey will receive Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida at 2.15 pm, while MOS Darshana Jardosh will welcome Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at 12:30 pm.
Giorgia Meloni, the Italian Prime Minister, will be received by MOS Shobha Karadlaje at 6:20 am, according to sources.
MOS Gen (retired) VK Singh will welcome China’s Premier Li Qiang at 7:45 p.m. and when UAE President HH Shaikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan arrives in the nation’s capital at 8 p.m., Minister of State for Home Affairs Nityanand Rai will welcome him.
Anthony Albanese, the Prime Minister of Australia, will arrive at 6:15 p.m. Rajeev Chandrasekhar, the Union Minister of State will receive him.
Germany’s and France’s heads of state will arrive on September 9. MOS Bhanu Pratap Singh Verma will welcome the arrival of German Chancellor Olaf Scholz at 8 a.m.
Anupriya Patel, MOS, will welcome Emmanuel Macron, the President of France, when he arrives at 12:35 pm.
Participating nations at the G20 Summit include South Africa, Nigeria, Argentina, Italy, the AU (represented by Comros), Bangladesh, Japan, the United Kingdom, Saudi Arabia, the Republic of Korea, Egypt, Australia, the United States, Canada, China, the United Arab Emirates, Brazil, Indonesia, Turkey, Spain, Germany, France, Singapore, Mauritius and the European Union.
