Jamshedpur, July 16: A unique program of blood donation-cum-voters awareness program was organised at Adityapur in the adjoining Seraikela-Kharsawan district on Sunday.
Organised by RSB Transmission Ltd and local administration, the program was aimed at catering to the health sector with as important an item as blood and creating awareness about the importance of one’s vote in nation-building.
For making this pivotal program a great success, the organisers have made a target for collecting 300 units of blood and making as many people apprised of the significance of votes.
About 400 people had arrived at the blood donation venue — RSB Transmission’s conference hall — by noon after the program started at 11 am.
Seraikela Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO), Ramkrishna Kumar who was the chief guest on the occasion commended the unique initiative taken by the management of RSB Transmission Ltd.
“It is needless to say anything about the value of blood donation which results in the saving of precious human lives. But using of one’s vote is equally important in nation-building. We should, therefore, use our franchise during any election, ” observed Kumar while addressing the gathering.
SK Behera, managing director, RSB Transmission Ltd, who was also present on the occasion and thanked those participated in the donation program.
Addressing the gathering, Behera said like blood donation, realizing the importance of casting one’s vote during elections is very important.
