Unknown assailants kill son of PDS dealer in Dumka

Dumka, Jan 20: Ashok Kumar Mandal (48) of Dhanwe village under Hasdiha police station of the district succumbed to his injuries he had suffered in an attack by unknown assailants while on his way home last night, today while being treated at Godda Sadar Hospital.

The deceased happened to be the son of the local PDS dealer Jiwan Mandal. He was just hundred metres away from his home when he was attacked with lethal weapons by unknown assailants having escaped considering him to have died.

“The motive behind the attack is not yet ascertained and attempts are on to identify the assailants on the basis of the footage of CCTV cameras installed by private individuals at few locations” the officer in-charge of the Hansdiha police station Akrist Aman said.

Family members of the deceased however have denied him to have been having enmity with anyone making it a bit complicated for the police to crack the case.
