New Delhi, Aug 11: Shrikant Tyagi, a self-declared BJP leader, had his bail request denied by the Surajpur court in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, on Thursday. Tyagi was appearing in court to request bail for insulting a woman’s modesty.
The Indian Penal Code (IPC) section 354 (relating to molestation of a woman) bail request was denied by the court. On August 16, the court will hear a case brought under sections 420, 419, and 482 of the IPC.

For reportedly harassing and assaulting a woman on the grounds of Grand Omaxe in Noida Sector 93B, Shrikant Tyagi was detained by the police. In total, 12 police teams and the Uttar Pradesh STF searched three states for Shrikant Tyagi. He was located in Meerut, and on Tuesday, police there detained him along with three of his colleagues.
After bulldozers demolished the unlawful building in front of Tyagi’s home, he was taken into custody.
