New Delhi, Sept 5: In connection with its continuing investigation into a Naxal case, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) carried out searches at eight locations across five districts in Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday.
The raids are taking place in the Uttar Pradesh districts of Prayagraj, Varanasi, Chandauli, Azamgarh and Deoria.
The raids were carried out early on Tuesday “in connection with NIA Case No. RC- 01/2023/NIA/LKW revival of NRB of CPI (Maoist) case,” according to official sources in the anti-terror agency.
All eight of these locations, which include the suspects’ homes and workplaces, were searched simultaneously by multiple NIA teams.
This NIA operation, which was closely coordinated with the Uttar Pradesh Police, coincides with the coordinated operations initiated against the Maoists in all the states in the nation afflicted by Left Wing Extremism. It deals yet another blow to the rebels.
