Lucknow, Jan 22: Akhilesh Yadav, the president of the Samajwadi Party, claimed on Saturday that if his party wins the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections, he will create jobs for 22 lakh youths in the IT sector.
Yadav was addressing during a Lucknow press conference.
SP general secretary Ram Gopal Yadav also announced at the press conference that he will run in the forthcoming assembly election from the Karhal seat in Mainpuri.
Mulayam Singh, the SP’s founder and Yadav’s father, represents Mainpuri in the Lok Sabha.
Akhilesh Yadav stated that if the SP gains power, it will endeavour to deliver 22 lakh employment in the IT sector to qualified youths.
He commented on the work done by the previous SP administration, saying, “The SP government had worked hard to advance the state’s IT sector. The first company to invest in Chak Gajaria Farm was HCL. Lucknow could have been recognised as an IT centre if the work done during the SP government had been continued. However, nothing was done later. 5,000 people work on the HCL campus, and possibly others may have gotten indirect positions.”
Akhilesh Yadav led the SP administration from 2012 until 2017.
In the presence of Yadav, former Congress MP Pravin Singh Aron and his wife Supriya joined the SP.
The Congress has nominated Supriya as their candidate for the Bareilly Cant assembly seat. She will now run for the same seat as the SP candidate in the elections.
The SP has previously announced Rajesh Agarwal as their contender for the seat. Supriya has taken his place.
