UP Polls: BJP MLA Ved Prakash Gupta to contest from Ayodhya

Lucknow, Jan 28: The BJP announced a list of 91 candidates for the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections on Friday, including 13 ministers and its sitting MLA in Ayodhya.

Interestingly, Ved Prakash Gupta, the BJP’s sitting MLA from Ayodhya, was re-elected.

Mukut Bihari Verma, the party’s Co-Operative Affairs Minister, was sacked, and his son Gaurav will run for the Kaiserganj seat in Bahraich. Shalabh Mani Tripathi, the media adviser to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, has been fielded from Deoria.

Siddharth Nath Singh, who will run from Allahabad West, and Nand Gopal Gupta ‘Nandi,’ who will run from Allahabad South, are among the ministers who have been nominated.
