Lucknow, Feb 23: On Wednesday, the fourth phase of voting in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election 2022 began. In the fourth round of the UP Election 2022, voting is underway in 59 seats spread over nine districts.
The polling began at 7 a.m. and will end at 6 p.m. Pilibhit, Lakhimpur Kheri, Sitapur, Hardoi, Unnao, Lucknow, Rae Bareli, Banda, and Fatehpur are the districts of voting today. This round of voting will decide the destiny of 624 candidates, including numerous cabinet ministers, incumbent Rae Bareli MLA Aditi Singh, and the mother of an Unnao rape victim, Asha Singh.
Over 60,000 police officers and 800 paramilitary battalions have been stationed for protection across 59 assembly seats in Uttar Pradesh. In 208 police station regions, voting will take place in 13,813 polling stations and 24,580 polling booths.
Meanwhile, Defence Minister and BJP leader Rajnath Singh said in Lucknow that, “BJP will not only repeat the history but it is also an undeniable possibility that our number of seats will increase.”
