UP polls: PM Modi to address first virtual rally ‘Jan Chaupal’ today

Lucknow, Jan 31: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday, will attend his first virtual rally “Jan Chaupal,” in Uttar Pradesh, ahead of the state’s Assembly elections.

The event would be aired across 98 mandals in 21 assembly seats in five districts of western Uttar Pradesh that are going to the polls in the first phase, according to a BJP statement. A total of 49,000 people are expected to attend.

On Sunday, Sunil Bansal, the state’s general secretary for organisations, viewed the virtual rally studio put up at the state headquarters in Lucknow.

Yogi Adityanath, the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, and Dinesh Sharma, the Deputy Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, will participate in the virtual rally from studios in Agra and Lucknow, respectively.

Shamli, Muzzafarnagar, Baghpat, Saharanpur, and Gautambuddh Nagar (Dadri/Jewar) are the five districts of Uttar Pradesh that would be covered by the virtual rally.

Anoop Gupta, State General Secretary and virtual rally in-charge, said that giant LED screens would be set up in all divisions of Nakur, Behat, Saharanpur (city), Saharanpur (Dehat), Deoband, Gangoh, and Rampur Maniharan for the ‘Jan Chaupal’ rally.

Furthermore, plans have been made for the virtual rally to be aired in Shamli’s Kairana, Thana Bhawan, and Shamli’s Shamli’s Shamli’s Shamli’s Shamli’s Shamli’s Shamli’s Shamli’s Shamli (city). Budhana, Purkaji, Charthaval, Muzaffarnagar (city), Khatauli, and Meerapur in Muzaffarnagar have made arrangements to view the virtual rally broadcast.

Large LED screens have been installed in the divisions of Chhaprauli, Baraut, and Baghpat (city) in Baghpat district to see the broadcast. Simultaneously, arrangements have been prepared for the programme to be broadcast in Dadri, Jewar, Gautam Budh Nagar.

Candidates from the BJP will attend the rally in any of the Assembly constituencies.

Interestingly, this will be the first address by the PM Modi for the BJP after the dates were announced for the Assembly elections.
