Ranchi, Aug 27: The MLAs of the UPA alliance packed in three buses reached to Dumargari guest house near Jamunia reservoir at Latratu in Khunti, about 40 km southwest of Ranchi. The UPA alliance includes the JMM, the Congress and the RJD which is ruling Jharkhand.

On Saturday, all the MLAs along with CM Hemant Soren had left the CM’s residence in Ranchi on three buses at around 1.45 pm.

Officials of district administrations were present to make necessary arrangements for the stay of these MLAs who have been brought here by Chief Minister Hemant Soren to prevent any horse trading. But BJP’s Godda MP Nishikant Dubey took a jibe and said that the UPA is crumbling and many MLAs are missing. In a tweet, he said, “Even after scrambling, only 33 MLAs could gather in Ranchi, Jharkhand, JMM does not delay, it is late.”

According to information, Chamra Linda of the JMM, Congress Ramgarh MLA Mamta Devi and Pradeep Yadav (independent) are not in this group. Three other Congress MLAs namely Irfan Ansari, Rajesh Kacchap and Naman Bixel Kongari are in Kolkata as per the bail order of Calcutta High Court.

It is widely believed that Hemant Soren may take these MLAs to neighbouring Congress-ruled Chhattisgarh. They were welcomed with traditional welcome songs.

According to reports, the security has been beefed up at the Mayfair Hotel in Chhattisgarh’s Raipur and it is believed that MLAs are likely to move there tomorrow.

Meanwhile, Jharkhand Congress in charge Avinash Pande is set to reach Ranchi by today evening, senior Congress leader Rajeev Ranjan Mishra confirmed. But given the fragile political situation, it is not clear as to when and where Avinash Pande would meet his party MLAs.

Jharkhand Congress Legislative Party meeting to be held at 8:30 pm today. Party's Incharge for the state, Avinash Pande will preside over the meeting.
