New Delhi, Nov 6: Outside a bar in Philadelphia’s Kensington neighbourhood, at least 12 people were shot On Saturday. According to local news in Philadelphia, the incident was recorded in the vicinity of East Allegheny and Kensington avenues.
It was unclear what precipitated the shooting and there was no immediate update on the victims’ conditions.
Recently, there have been several reports of mass shootings in the US, for which US President Joe Biden has expressed his sorrow. He condemned the mass shootings in the country and noted that there is so much gun violence that many murders are no longer even reported in the media.
In the meantime, a US federal judge temporarily overturned significant portions of an earlier New York statute governing gun licencing.
The state has “further degraded a first-class constitutional right to bear guns in public for self-defence” into a mere “request,” according to Judge Glenn T. Suddaby of the US District Court for the Northern District of New York. He said that some legal provisions lacked any historical support, a contentious standard advanced by the supreme court in the spring.
