New Delhi, Nov.30: After Parag Agrawal was named CEO of Twitter, Tesla CEO Elon Musk gave a shout out to Indian talent in the United States.

The entrepreneur was responding to a tweet about how Indian-origin people are now in charge of some of the world’s most prestigious tech firms, including Microsoft, Google, and IBM.

“USA benefits greatly from Indian talent!” Musk said in a tweet.

Following the likes of Google parent Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai and Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, 37 years old Parag Agrawal is the latest Indian-origin individual to lead a major US-based software corporation.

Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey announced his departure from the firm on Monday. Dorsey led Twitter through the turbulence of Donald Trump’s administration, overcoming an activist investor’s attempt to depose him in 2020.

Agrawal takes over as CEO of Twitter at a time when the firm is eager to focus on growth rather than fights about free speech.

He joined Twitter in 2011 and rose through the ranks to become the company’s Chief Technical Officer in 2017. Dorsey added in his message to the employees that Parag Agrawal was at the helm of every major decision and was instrumental in turning the firm around.

“He is someone I learn from on a regular basis because he leads with his heart and soul. My faith in him as our CEO is unwavering,” Dorsey had said earlier.
