Jamshedpur, Sept 2: The East Singhbhum district administration will soon start a ‘ Vaccination Mela’ in Jamshedpur.
The massive vaccination drive will begin later this week at the Keenan Stadium in Bistupur.
Dhalbhum SDO Sandeep Kumar Meena said they have set a target of 10,000 jabs daily at the Vaccination Mela.
As many as 20 outlets are being made at the venue for administering vaccination doses.
Both the vaccines – Covishield and Covaxin – will be provided at the Vaccination Mela which will continue for a week.
According to health department officials, vaccines would be provided in the age group of 18 to 44 years and above.
” Vaccination would be provided through online slot booking and walk-in mode, ” said a health department official adding that all necessary logistics will be taken care of at the venue.
The SDO and district civil surgeon AK Lal inspected the venue today to take stock of preparations.
Earlier, JRD Tata Sports Complex was selected for the vaccination drive but later the decision was changed. Notably, there is no dearth of vaccines in the district.
The health department is continuing with the Covid tests.
On Wednesday six positive cases were detected after about one month. August saw no Covid related casualties in East Singhbhum district. Daily cases were also below five.
