Ranchi, July 20: The vehicle attack on sub-inspector Sandhya Topno by cattle smugglers in the outskirt of Jharkhand capital has raised doubt over the strategy planning of the Jharkhand police.
It has been experienced so as the lady police officer was sent to handle the dreaded smuggler with one constable and a driver around 3 am when it was dark and the place where she was sent is known for movement of extremists and mafia.
A police constable supported the observation saying the act of the officer-in-charge of Tupudana police station Kanhaiya Singh has come under the scanner after the incident and senior officers should look into the matter.
“The Officer-in-charge was well aware of the fact that smugglers riding on a pick-up van have already broken several barricades but he did not chalk out a proper plan and sent the lady officer with two constables. It was not a common incident but a vehicle attack on a police officer on duty,” the constable said.
The maternal uncle of the deceased sub inspector Nimesh Tirkey too has shared the same feeling and demanded a CBI probe into the matter. “How could the officer-in-charge become so careless about the security of his officers,” Tirkey questioned.
Meanwhile, the last salute was given to the lady police officer at the police line. After the last salute, the mother of deceased sub inspector Topno broke down. She was heard saying that her daughter was equal to 10 sons. “Meri Beti Akele 10 Beton Ke Barabar Thi. Badi Himmati Thi,” she was heard saying.
