KUMUD JENAMANI
Jamshedpur, Sept 5: Following Tamil Nadu minister Udaynidhi Stalin’s unpleasant and offensive statement at a public domain on Sanatan Dharma, a Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) leader has strongly demanded a Law over use of name-surname strictly according to a citizen’s religious background only.
In the present scenario, the central government should be mindful to bring in an Act in which if any Christian citizen retains or uses a name and surname that belong to the people of Hindu communities only will have to change them as per one’s own religion only.
The highly objectionable statement that is certain to have its repercussions across the country needs such an Act as scores of people belonging to Christian communities are living at ease by inheriting or adopting the name and titles of Hindu communities.
Just for instance, a Christian name would often reflect Christianity within the name itself, as seen in names like Michele Rajeev or Santosh Thomas unlike Kumar Rajeev or Santosh Chandra which makes them easy to muddle up and get associated with the Hindu circle.
Revealing about the move, the VHP’s state propaganda cell head Sanjay Kumar said though using such names and titles by the Christians may appear to be a trivial matter, but after the Udaynidhi Stalin’s statement, it has become a necessity for the safety and security of the over 100 crores Hindus, including Sarna Aadivasi who all are followers of Sanatan dharma.
“In view of the potential Act, it should be made mandatory for each and every person, including those belonging to Christianity to adopt a name and title that must belong to one’s religion. No Christian should be allowed to live in the guise of a Hindu, ” observed the saffron leader while talking to lagatar24.com.
He pointed out that as our country is a Hindu majority nation inclusive of tribals, a sizable number of Christians tend to use names and titles familiar to the Hindu communities only. He stated that such is obviously aimed at taking advantage by mixing up with the majority communities only.
“Chances of getting an advantage by adopting a Hindu name and title are maximum in the political field. But after a highly influential politician like Udaynidhi Stalin called for the eradication of Sanatan dharma, the lives of Hindus have become vulnerable. As the Hindus are now prone to attack, the identity of each and every citizen must be in accordance with his or her own religion only,” said the VHP leader.
Sanjay Kumar said that no one should feel offended if a demand for such an Act as mentioned above-involving misuse of Hindus’ names and titles is being made.
“Moreover, more than one leader has supported Udaynidhi Stalin’s hate speech against Hindus who have been equated with viruses of dangerous diseases like Corona, dengue and malaria that require eradication”, he added.
“I am preparing a letter to be sent to my outfit’s national leaders about the urgent need for an Act which is logical and no one should have any objection to such a move. An Act to this effect immediately, will definitely make the Sanatan Dharma followers or the Hindus to lead a comparatively ‘pollution-free’ life, ” observed the VHP leader.
