New Delhi, May 26: Venkaiah Naidu, India’s Vice President, will visit Gabon, Senegal, and Qatar from May 30 to June 7.
According to an official release, the Vice President’s travel to Gabon and Senegal will boost India’s relationship with Africa and underline the country’s commitment to the continent. The purpose of Naidu’s visit to Qatar is to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between India and Qatar and to strengthen bilateral ties.
Naidu will be accompanied by a high-level group that includes Bharati Pravin Pawar, Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare, as well as Sushil Kumar Modi, P. Raveendranath, and Vijay Pal Singh Tomar, three Members of Parliament.
The Vice President will meet with Gabon’s Prime Minister, H.E Rose Christiane Ossouka Raponda, during his visit to Gabon from May 30 to June 1. He will also meet with Gabon’s President, Ali Bongo Ondimba, who will be accompanied by other dignitaries. Interactions with Gabonese business leaders will also take place, as will Naidu’s presentation to the Indian diaspora.
From June 1 to 3, Naidu will be in Senegal, where he will hold delegation-level talks with Senegal’s President Macky Sall, as well as the President of the National Assembly Moustapha Niasse and other dignitaries.
