New Delhi, July 19: Opposition’s vice-presidential candidate Margaret Alva filed her nomination papers at Parliament on Tuesday, in the presence of Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge, NCP chief Sharad Pawar and other Opposition leaders.

Earlier on Monday, Jagdeep Dhankhar filed his nomination for the Vice Presidential elections, as the candidate of NDA in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, BJP national president JP Nadda and other BJP leaders.
Notably, the 16th vice president of India will be chosen in elections that will be held on August 6, 2022, according to the Election Commission.
