Vicky Kaushal remembers Sardar Udham Singh on his birth anniversary

Mumbai, Dec 26: Bollywood actor, Vicky Kaushal, paid tribute to Shaheed Sardar Udham Singh on his 122nd birthday.

Vicky recently starred in the biopic ‘Sardar Udham,’ about freedom fighter Sardar Udham Singh, who assassinated Michael O’Dwyer, the former Lieutenant Governor of Punjab in British India, in 1940, to avenge the 1919 Jallianwala Bagh massacre.

On Sunday, the actor posted a monochrome photo of the late freedom fighter, a photo of himself from the film, and a photo of the film’s director, Shoojit Sircar, holding a poster that read, “LONG LIVE UDHAM.” He also wrote, “Remembering Shaheed Sardar Udham Singh on his 122nd birth anniversary today. (26th December 1899 – 31st July 1940)”

Sardar Udham had won the hearts of audiences with its gripping story of the revolutionary’s life, flawless performance by Vicky Kaushal, and brilliant cinematography.

Directed by Shoojit Sircar the film based was applauded by critics and audiences alike. The depiction of the horrific incident that inspired Udham Singh to murder Sir Micheal O’Dwyer has had a powerful impact. The visual depiction of this incident sent shivers down the viewers’ spines. The entire scene was so powerful that it engulfed everyone watching the film.

‘Sardar Udham,’ produced by Ronnie Lahiri and Sheel Kumar, also starred Shaun Scott, Stephen Hogan, Banita Sandhu, Kirsty Averton, and Amol Parashar.
